The only thing we know about the atlantians cames from the dialogue of Plato( or was it Herodotus? ), and that information was written from some scraps of informations he got from some ancient priests in Egypt. So we can say for sure that they really existed...for all we know , the story of the Atlantis could have been told just to make fun of a naive greak. What we can say for sure is ..that there are to many similarities between Ancient Egypt and other cultures ,like mayans and incas... Ths similarities are so amazing that we can't stop thinking that there must be a catch somewhere... For all we know ...maybe some egyptians who fled from their country looking for new places to trade or lands to discover , were those who influenced other cultures...Maybe the egyptians are those who were the real people of Atlantis... :)) we may never know...untill someone invents a time machine ..:)) cheers !!

acctually the egyptian civilization is oldest civiliztion ever,,after the neolithic period came the egyptian civilization,,,they dicovered the tombs of the builders of the pyramids they are egyptian....and aslo something related to there methology that building funerary monuments for the king whome the gods love and protect is a great honor,,so how would the egyptian man let any one on the universe built it but him...and they didn'y take the structure from any civilization in my openion coz egyptian civilization is they earliest ^_^

i think there will be no answer for this question .
in the history wrote that when Alexander were in the desert f Egypt there is priest woman whispered in to him about the secrets of Egypt and he promised nt to tell and he didnt . and the same happend with herodut who escaped from unknown reason to egypt . he was ask a lot and he seen a lot and when a priest told him the secrets of egyptian priesthood he promised nt to tell and he didnt .

i dont think so. but i believe that some of survival atlants were living on Knossos(medit.island) not far from Eygipt. maybe Plato was takong about Knossos. still there isnt facts that Atlatis was in pacific ocean but i believe it was in mediterranean sea.

Yeah..thats one possibility . The disaster that Plato describes to be the destruction of Atlantis might have happened to a island not far from Egypt ( i think it's Knossos...but i'm not sure...) In the end , Plato could have taken some ideas from this story and some from the ancient books of the egyptian priests and made the story of Atlantis... But now , tormented by all the Sci-Fi movies I've wonder...What if the Atlantians were actually aliens of some kind ? Geeze...That means I'm the great great-son of !Xobile , the ruler of Mars ? :))
