What is the pursuit of happiness? Is it the innate desire to accomplish a goal? A Purpose driven individual was Chris Gardner (Will Smith). A business minded individual with promise. He had good "Verbal Judo" and used it to his advantage.

For instance, he had desire to get his product into the mind of someone that could help him touch the star and meet his destiny. He delivered his strengths in person and sold himself, not just the product and landed an interview in a prestigious marketing company.

A few numbers fall short of the 9 numbers in Sudoko to finish the hand-held game, a Rubix cube. All his money has been invested in this idea. Circumstances drive his wife played by Thandie Newton, to leave him but Chris demands that if she leaves, she must leave without their son Christopher played by his son, Jayden Christopher Syden Smith. His son playing his actual role in his father's life made the bond to be inevitable. You could see how good their relationship is very good and strong in real life. I appreciated that.

From being married to having help from his wife to have the benefit of 2 parents, Chris turned into a single parent, not living in a permanent residence and laying to rest anyway that his determination would take him to see that Pursuit of Happiness. With the sacrifice that he had to let his son see the downs of life.

Some parts I really liked were his job interview. He gets out of being thrown out of his apartment sooner by telling the owner that he would paint the apartment. He gets arrested for unpaid parking tickets and runs, (which he often does throughout the movie) to the interview in a pair of jeans, a wife beater and paint all in his hair. "What would you say about a man who gets a job coming into an interview in a t-shirt?" (Owner of company) "He must've been wearing some really nice pants." (Chris)

I also liked how he took the worry out of Christopher's mind by improvising with him and instilling a sort of trust in him. The Pursuit of Hapiness is like a God-given right that we must no forsake and I think that is what the message of this movie is. Make it happen like Mariah Carey would say. Get on your knees, pray and get on the good foot like James Brown would say. I liked how Chris taught his son to not let anyone tell you that you cannot accomplish something if you believe in it.

The Pursuit of Hapiness was a very good storyline with a real and emotional appeal. It just continues to grow interest as the movie continues because you don't really know what is going to happen unless you know about the life of the person whom this movie is really based on, Chris Gardner. I seen an article in Jet Magazine about him and it was very inspiring. I could really appreciate a movie like this.

And I knew Will could pull it off. He has always had this positive message type of attitude, even in his music prior to The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. I'm not saying this is true, but there was a young boy in the movie that looked like he could be Carlton's son. If you are a true Will Smith fan, you know who Carlton is. It left a nice impression on me to think that he kept it cool with The Tap Dance kid and might still work together in other things.

I would definitely recommend you go see this chordless improvisation of a jazz trumpet by Miles Davis. It will flow on you like an ocean on pink sand
